Critique: The Darkness →
This is the best thing I’ve read anywhere about The Darkness, which was a completely amazing game.
I’m glad someone took the time to write up something like this about it. And look, it’s been like 16 months since the game’s release, and it’s still just as interesting to read about it now as it was then. Screw the whole “preview/review” games industry...

On Far Cry 2's "slow burn" →
Chris Remo’s interesting take on Far Cry 2.
It’s almost as if this game wants you to quit early on. Super hostile, pretty aimless, and not a lot of “tutorial” to help you along. Its “slow burn” is one of its most attractive qualities.

The "F" games
I’ve been playing the hell out of Far Cry 2 for the past couple weeks. Yesterday I just grabbed Fallout 3 and played for about 4 hours.
I can’t remember the last time I had 2 games that I wanted to play so much simultaneously.
And I was also thinking how unbelievably hostile both post-apocalyptic Washington, DC and fake Central Africa are, and how much I love being in both places....
