The Maps team is on a roll lately. They just opened up Google Maps Labs today, unlocking new features I’ve been wondering about for a long time (drag ‘n zoom!).
There are a couple new “power user” features that’ll be useful to me, like the lat/long display tooltip, aerial oblique imagery, and the lat/long marker drop feature.
The StreetView team goes to Whister!
For the Vancouver Olympics, the StreetView guys have been hittin’ the slopes to get imagery from snowmobiles. The little StreetView guy is even a skier!

Moses wanted to build Mid-Manhattan and Lower Manhattan Expressways to connect Long Island with Jersey via Manhattan. The first would’ve connected the Lincoln and Queens-Midtown Tunnels, the second would connect the Manhattan and Williamsburg bridges to the Holland Tunnel. Needless to say, NYC would be a completely different place had these projects been pursued.
Google Sky is the newest Ajax map viewer from Google (following Google Maps, Google Moon, and Google Mars).
Rock on, Google. Us GIS peeps are lovin’ the products. My Maps makes my life easier every day.
Google is producing a map showing results from the New Hampshire primary with their “My Maps” feature. They’ve already done one for the Iowa Caucus.
Boston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Detroit, and Providence. Soon we’ll be able to see miscreants peeing on buildings in every state in the union.
