Aperture Science recruitment video!
Left 4 Dead 2 teaser.
Set in New Orleans with zombies, chainsaws, frying pans, and Katrina references.
“You wanted to see me, Robin?”
“Yes, Greg. What’s the difference between you and you’re fired?”
“I — what?”
“Clean out your desk, Greg.”
The Left 4 Dead DLC that I talked about last week is up. Go on. Get it! The image above is a chart showing you how you are going to be increasingly screwed you’re going to be when you play survival mode. At around fifteen minutes in you get a tank and a horde of zombies every 5 seconds. Good luck everyone.
I had to reblog this, that chart is ill. You can see L4D’s achievement stats here.

Add this voice file to your Garmin Nuvi to have GLaDOS guide you to your doom. Frickin’ amazing.
The things that Valve is doing with the Steam platform right now are dominating what’s being done on consoles.
If current trends continue, it seems like my consoles (mostly just the 360) are going to be obsolete. The Wii still has value, because it provides a platform undo-able on the PC, and then there’s the rhythm games.
I guess the PC would become my default gaming platform, with the TV/console games filling the need for social or physical games, like Wii Sports and Rock Band.
And I still can’t believe Dylan Fitterer made Audiosurf by himself. Insane.

A fantabulous casual interview with Erik Wolpaw, Dylan Cuthbert, and Jonathan Mak.
Wolpaw is a writer for Valve and formerly OldManMurray. Cuthbert is the founder of Q Games and creator of the PixelJunk series. Mak is the creator of Everyday Shooter on the PSN.

Here’s one from OMM’s Chet himself:
Q: 1. The grenade puzzle: I did it with a blast from the gravity gun! Looked down and primary fire and the floor bounced me up. Would love to see more gravity gun bounce puzzles 2. The little forest bit was BRILLIANT, it had the perfect feel as you walk in and it got darker and quieter but looking up the HDR made the leaves against the sky look great. It would be fantastic to have an extended time in a forest, i think even combat would work in there.
A: Thanks for the email.
We do not allow cheaters. We are matching you against our steam subscriber list and you will be banned for cheating in the grenade puzzle.
Thank you

Valve just bought out Left4Dead developer Turtle Rock Studios.
L4D was a collab-o between the two, now I guess it’s a wholly Valve-developed game. They’re doing some interesting stuff with multiplayer/co-op. It’ll add some long-overdue variety to the survival-horror zombie-face-shooting genre.
